Do you deliver fencing materials Australia-wide?
Yes. Fence Warehouse supplies DIY fencing materials throughout Australia and can arrange delivery to residential addresses, commercial sites and construction projects. We regularly ship to metropolitan and regional locations.
Can I collect my order from Sunshine North?
Yes. Orders can be collected from our Sunshine North facility by prior arrangement. We will confirm the collection time once your order is ready.
What are Fence Warehouse’s trading hours?
Our standard trading hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Please contact us before visiting around public holidays.
How do I get a free quote?
Complete our online quote form or call 1300 336 239. Providing measurements, photos and a short description of the project will help us prepare the most useful response.
How do I measure for a fence quote?
Provide the total fence length, approximate height, gate locations and photos of the area where possible. Our team can help check measurements and determine the likely quantities required.
Do you provide installation services?
Yes. We provide professional fencing and gate installation throughout Melbourne, while DIY fencing systems and components can be supplied Australia-wide.
Can you deliver directly to my site?
Yes. We make regular deliveries throughout metropolitan Melbourne and can arrange delivery to many other locations. Access requirements and unloading arrangements should be discussed when ordering.
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. Warranty terms vary by product, finish and manufacturer. Contact our team for the warranty information applying to your fencing, gate, hardware or automation purchase.

What fencing colours are available?
Many products are available in popular colours including Black, Primrose, Monument, Woodland Grey and Surfmist. Additional and custom powder-coated colours can also be arranged for suitable products.
How long will powder coating last?
Quality powder coating can provide many years of protection and appearance retention when correctly specified and maintained. We use premium Interpon and Dulux powder-coating systems for our custom-manufactured products.
Do aluminium fences rust?
Aluminium does not rust like steel. Its corrosion resistance and low maintenance make it a popular choice for pool fencing, screening and many exposed outdoor applications.
How much maintenance does steel fencing require?
Galvanised and powder-coated steel fencing is generally low maintenance. Periodic washing, checking for damage and promptly touching up exposed areas will help maximise its service life.
Are your fencing products suitable for coastal areas?
Many aluminium and appropriately finished products can perform well in coastal environments. Coastal exposure varies, so speak with our team about suitable materials, finishes and the maintenance required for your location.

Can you manufacture custom fence panels?
Yes. We manufacture custom fence panels, gates and screening systems for unique site requirements, including raked, tapered, curved and oversized designs.
Do you make non-standard panels and gates?
Yes. Our Melbourne manufacturing facility can produce a wide variety of non-standard fencing and matching gates to suit residential, commercial and industrial applications.
How long do custom orders take?
Lead times depend on the product, finish and complexity. Non-standard items may be completed in around 2–3 working days, while more involved custom orders often require 10–15 working days. Please confirm the current lead time before ordering.
Can fencing be installed on sloping ground?
Yes. Depending on the design and site, fencing can be stepped, raked or custom manufactured to follow sloping ground while maintaining a clean appearance and the required function.
What type of fence is best for a front yard?
The best option depends on the home, desired privacy, security and budget. Popular choices include steel picket fencing, spear and ring fencing, aluminium slat screening and architectural blade fencing.
Can you supply fencing for commercial projects?

Do you manufacture sliding gates?
Yes. We manufacture manual and automated sliding gates for residential, commercial and industrial properties, with custom sizes and styles available.
What is the difference between a sliding and cantilever gate?
A conventional sliding gate runs on a ground track. A cantilever gate is suspended above the driveway and operates without a track across the opening, making it useful where ground tracks may collect dirt, gravel or debris.
Can an existing gate be automated?
Often, yes. Existing swing and sliding gates can frequently be retrofitted with automation, subject to the gate’s condition, geometry, available space and a site assessment.
What happens if an automatic gate loses power?
Most gate motors include a manual-release system so the gate can be operated during a power outage. Battery-backup options are also available for selected automation systems.
Can I order replacement hinges, latches or gate parts?
Yes. We stock a broad range of fencing and gate components including hinges, latches, brackets, base plates, wheels, rollers and automation accessories.

Does your pool fencing comply with Australian requirements?
Our pool-fencing products are intended for use in compliant barrier systems. Final compliance depends on the complete barrier, layout, installation, gates, latches, surrounding climbable objects and the standard applying to the property. Pool owners should confirm requirements with their local council or building surveyor and arrange any required inspection and certification.
What height does a pool fence need to be?
Pool fencing is commonly supplied at 1200mm high, but the compliant height and configuration depend on the site and applicable barrier standard. Retaining walls, level changes and nearby climbable objects may require a different solution. Confirm your site requirements with your council, building surveyor or registered pool-barrier inspector.
What makes your aluminium pool fencing different?
Our tubular aluminium range uses internally ribbed, reinforced rails. Fence Warehouse’s tested rail design has demonstrated substantially greater strength than the comparison rails used in its testing, while retaining aluminium’s lightweight and corrosion-resistant advantages.
How strong is glass pool fencing?
Our glass pool-fencing panels use Grade A toughened safety glass selected for the intended application. Toughened glass is strong and impact resistant and, if broken, is designed to fragment into small pieces rather than large jagged shards.
Can I install a pool fence myself?
Many customers with suitable tools and practical experience install tubular or glass fencing themselves using the relevant instructions. Pool-barrier compliance depends on accurate layout and installation, so seek professional advice whenever you are unsure.
Can pool fencing be attached to a timber deck?
Yes, subject to the structure being suitable. We can supply base-plated posts for fixing to timber decking, but adequate framing or reinforcement must be provided below the deck to support the fence and its loads.
Can pool fencing be attached to concrete and tiles?
Yes. The appropriate method depends on the fencing system and substrate. Some installations use core-drilled holes and high-strength grout, while others use suitable base plates and fixings. Care is required to avoid damaging tiles and waterproofing.
Can pool fencing be installed in a garden bed or lawn?
Tubular fencing can often be installed using in-ground posts and suitable concrete footings. Glass fencing generally requires a specifically designed structural footing or mounting surface.
Is glass pool fencing difficult to keep clean?
It can be cleaned much like other exterior glass. Regular rinsing and cleaning prevents mineral and environmental buildup. Protective glass treatments may also reduce water spotting and make routine cleaning easier.
Do you keep pool fencing in stock?

Can pool fencing be used as a handrail or balustrade?
Standard pool fencing must not automatically be treated as structural balustrading. Requirements depend on the location, fall height, loading and applicable building rules. Speak with our team and confirm the required system with your building surveyor before ordering.
